Designer who builds the whole thing.

Paul Buczkowski is a designer-engineer in the New York metro (Wallington, NJ). For 10+ years his title said designer, but on the web work he was usually building the front end too. Now he builds the whole thing: designing interfaces and shipping them in React, TypeScript, and Swift, concept through deployment.
He started as a photo editor at the NBA, then spent about a decade in design doing brand, motion, and marketing for PNY, RollWorks, and Getty Images (B.F.A., Montclair State). The web jobs always had him in the code, writing the markup and the styling and building the WordPress sites. The one part he never owned was the back end. That went to someone else.
Then AI got good at code, and that changed what he could build on his own. Instead of competing with it he learned to build with it, and it handled the back end he had never touched. Now he ships whole products solo: a native iOS weather-safety app on Apple WeatherKit, a typed legal-compliance engine backed by 91 tests, and a full-stack stats platform with AI built in. He also shoots 35mm.
This site is itself an example of how he works: a Next.js and TypeScript app he designed and built with an AI coding assistant, instrumented to explain its own work.
